Hollywoodbets Lucky Numbers: How It Works
Lucky Numbers is Hollywoodbets' version of betting on lottery draws. You do not buy a lottery ticket. Instead, you place a fixed-odds bet with Hollywoodbets on which numbers will come up in a South African or international draw.
How it differs from the lottery
| Lottery ticket | Lucky Numbers bet | |
|---|---|---|
| Who you play with | The lottery operator | Hollywoodbets, as bookmaker |
| How payouts work | Share of a prize pool or jackpot | Fixed odds agreed when you bet |
| What you can bet on | Matching a full line of numbers | Single numbers, combinations, bonus ball outcomes and more |
Hollywoodbets advertises thousands of draws per week across many countries, so there is almost always a draw open.
South African draws
- SA Lotto, Lotto Plus 1 and Lotto Plus 2, drawn on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
- SA PowerBall and PowerBall Plus, drawn on Tuesdays and Fridays.
- SA Daily Lotto, drawn every day.
International draws
The international selection includes the popular UK 49s, which has two draws a day, as well as other UK and European lotteries and draws from countries further afield. Check the Lucky Numbers section on Hollywoodbets for the current list and each draw's betting cut-off time, which can shift with daylight saving in the draw's home country.
Common bet types
- Pick a number count. Choose one or more numbers to appear in the draw. The more numbers you pick, the higher the odds and the lower the chance of winning.
- Bonus ball markets. Bet on whether the bonus ball is high or low, odd or even, or a specific number.
- Combination bets that include main and bonus balls.
The markets and odds on offer differ by draw. Hollywoodbets' app also includes a quick-pick feature that chooses random numbers for you.
How to place a bet
- Log in to your Hollywoodbets account.
- Open Lucky Numbers and choose a country and draw.
- Pick your numbers and market, or use quick pick.
- Enter your stake, check the potential payout and confirm before the cut-off.
Keep it in perspective
Lottery draws are pure chance. Past results do not make any number "due", and no system improves your odds. With so many draws running all day, it is easy to bet more often than you intended, so set a daily budget or deposit limit first. See responsible gambling tools.
